Next week, preservationists throughout Louisiana will gather in Alexandria for the 30th annual statewide preservation conference. And despite what the brochure says, it’s not too late to register!
The conference will kick off next Tuesday night with an event at Loyd Hall, which has recently undergone extensive renovations.
On Wednesday, world-renowned preservationist and economist Donovan Rypkema will be flying in from Europe to address -what else- the economics of historic preservation. On a side note, you can read Mr. Rypkema’s insightful remarks to a conference in Toronto by clicking here.
And here are a couple of brochures describing the tours that will be taking place:
A Tour of the Most Endangered Properties
and
A Tour of the Historic Garden District
Even if you can’t attend the conference, you should try and stop by Dinner on the Bricks on Thursday night in Downtown Alexandria.
Kudos to Melinda Anderson, Paul Smith, and the Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation for their hard work in putting all of this together.
