  • David Vitter Advertises On DailyKos

    Waste of money: Initially, I thought, “I can’t believe Kos is taking Vitter’s money,” then I realized how awesomely ridiculous it is: David Vitter is paying to advertise on DailyKos. That said, at first glance, I thought the ad at the bottom, particularly as it appeared on DailyKos, was sponsored by Vitter’s opponent, Charlie Melancon. And I’m sure I’m not alone.

    Aside from the obvious problems with a Senator apparently charging people for breakfast, lunch, and dinner dates with him during the months of September and October (while Congress is in session), it is also interesting to note that, recently, Mr. Vitter has publicly attacked his opponent, Congressman Charlie Melancon, for raising money out of state.   • Reason Foundation Advises Jindal

    Apparently, we can save a few million bucks here and there by offering (extremely) short-term contracts to privatize a little bit of government work, which includes work performed by the Louisiana State Police. Here: Sen. Jack Donahue, a St. Tammany Parish Republican who chairs the streamlining commission, said he expects a large portion of the panel’s recommendations — due in a report by Dec. 15 — will involve hiring outside contractors to do work now performed by state employees.
