This is one of those rare occasions where The Town Talk coverage is simply too personal. Bill has always been a mentor to me, and after the last several weeks, he’s also become an inspiration and a hero.
Bill and Bobbi, I love you both, and I am so blessed to have both of you in my life.
Bill, I’ve never known anyone else– ever– who has fought for his own life the way you have. It’s remarkable. You are still here today because of your stubbornness, and boy, I am so thankful for that. (By the way, on a personal note, walking is like riding a bicycle, or so I’ve been told. I never learned how to ride a bike, but I’ve had to learn how to walk “again” several times; physical therapy is the easiest part of this process).
Alexandria appreciates you. We all do. Thank you, Bill; I can’t adequately express what you mean to me and what your recovery means. I am thrilled and ecstatic.
Again, as I mentioned to you personally, I think a fireworks show is in order.
Thank you Bill Hess for being an incredibly generous and inspirational leader. Thank you for teaching me about tenacity, purpose, understanding, and balance. And thank you for demonstrating the power of the will to live.
Keep on fighting the good fight.
PS: You look good with the beard. Seriously.
