Three years after creating one of Louisiana’s most popular and insightful progressive websites, The Daily Kingfish, publisher Ryan McLeod is turning over the keys to a new group of contributors and editors. (Ryan was recruited to manage a campaign in New York State).
I met Ryan shortly after he launched The Daily Kingfish, and during the last three years, we’ve become good friends. He graciously allowed my friend Daniel and me to share floor passes with him at the Democratic National Convention in 2008, and throughout the last three years (while he was earning his law degree from LSU), Ryan has been one of Louisiana’s most outspoken young progressives.
I am happy that The Daily Kingfish will continue under new management, and I know the folks who are assuming these responsibilities are just as dedicated and passionate about the future of our Great State as Ryan is.
Kudos to Ryan for his contributions to our political discourse and for his outspoken advocacy for the State of Louisiana. I have no doubt that Ryan will continue to share his insight.
So again, thanks, Ryan.
In other blogosphere news, Mark Moseley (also known as Oyster) of Your Right Hand Thief is now officially blogging for The Lens. He’s taking the reins from Eli Ackerman, who is moving onto graduate school. I always appreciated Eli’s candor and analysis; he will also be missed.
And, by the way, he couldn’t have wished for a better successor. I’ve read it before- on someone else’s blog- and I agree: Mark (Oyster) is the Sinatra of the Louisiana blogosphere. If you’re not reading The Lens, you’re missing out.
Awww, shucks, you didn’t have to go and do dat.
Thanks.
