I just got back from Baton Rouge, where I gave a presentation on blogging to the first-ever class of the Louisiana Chapter of the New Leaders Council. See:
I had a great time, and I am really proud of the class we put together. They are an exceptional group of young leaders, and I have no doubt that they will continue to make a difference in Louisiana for many years to come.
A special thanks as well to those Louisiana bloggers who unknowingly contributed to the conversation: Oyster at Your Right Hand Thief, Jeffrey at Library Chronicles, Dambala at the American Zombie, and the stellar teams at both Humid Beings and the Lens. At the very least, I hope I scored you all a few more dedicated readers and maybe even some new contributors.
You are doing incredible work and I am looking forward to seeing what this group can accomplish over time.
Thanks Eli. I really wanted to put together a panel and have you speak as well, but the session got bumped up a month. There’s always next year.
And by the way, you guys are doing tremendously great work at the Lens.
Are you two going to kiss?
Lamar, can you light a fire under those bright, young, folk’s butts to start digging into state contracts? I know PBJ swears we have the best ethics laws in the nation, but forgive me if I don’t take him on his word.
I would love to see some hard core, pissed off, investigative blogging in B.R. A good place to start would be with the DOTD.
good work, sir.
Hahahaha…
I think, soon enough, we will be discussing vetting, researching, and navigating state databases and public records.
Maybe you could provide some insight.
