Other than the fact that this commercial completely misleads the public about the Cleco case, it also– as Lamar has alluded to– employs elements of race baiting– perfectly choreographed race baiting.
I really think Brewer has lost her ever-loving mind.

The commercial is a joke, just like candidate Brewer. She is now unemployable when she loses on Nov. 7. Who in their right mind would run the rape ad and now this? Who in their right mind would continue to support this clearly unstable person?

Did ya’ll see the comments posted on the KALB blog in response to the ads? Dru Wells has two worth reading. But what’s with a guy like Lafe Jones defending the pig and rape ads? Those cannot be compared to ANYTHING Jacques Roy dished out leading up to Sept. 30. Number one, Brewer’s ads contain lies, while Roy’s stuff merely pointed out business transactions and the infamous lie. I thought Lafe had more class than that.
I wonder what Mrs. Brewer and her supporters will think once David Pugh publishes the e-mails and text messages she sent him concerning the EMS contract.
Mrs. Brewer, do you honestly think you can smear and lie about a man like David Pugh and not expect the truth to come out?

Brewer and company seem to think they should be allowed to do and say anything in order to get elected. In America, we have to take responsibility for our actions, Mrs. Brewer, particularly when they are engineered to smear an innocent person and to deceive the public.

True Civil….and Dru Wells has to be extra careful. Harold Chambers is his cousin. I think Dru like many of us who have known Delores for a long time is concerned about her given the recent events.

Sorry about the double post. Hey, is it true that Brewer pulled the pig ad? I think there are some potential legal problems with the content of the ad regarding EMS, CLECO and maybe more. Is there anyone left in town that Brewer hasn’t offended? If there is, there’s 9 days left for her to find them and offend them, too.
I too agree with civil..Brewers not acting herself. I think she’s TOTALLY stressed out and out of character. The thing is though, the position she is running for is obviously demanding and it seems that she can’t handle pressure very well. I’m not trying to be mean spirited or anything like that, I just think she has showed that she doesn’t have what it takes.

I know Delores Brewer, or I thought I did. At one time she was a generous, nice, intelligent lady. I know desperation can make people do crazy things, but come on, what does she think she is accomplishing by pulling all of this crap. Delores, your negativity and desperate campaign ads have just lost you a vote. I tend to stick with the moral and might I suggest you figure out exactly when and where you lost yours.

Okay, first I can’t believe I’m posting on this site. However, I like the site. Nice work Lamar. First, it seems that a few of the readers are fairly anti-brewer. That’s fine,just know that we do not know everything that is going on with some of these issues. Yes the pigs are a little freaky. Do remember though, that this is a campaign. For example, the whole story of Both David and John Brewer making money from the City was very slanted as well as this cleco issue seems to be. That is not saying that either one does not have some merit. However, if you really wanted to know about these things go look into them so you yourself are fully informed and your not getting a half-truth.
Unfortunately, that stuff works. It has for a long time and will for a long time. My point being,it seems like a few posts seem to personally challange Ms. Brewer’s integrity. You can do that if you must, but realize that you don’t know everything. We should all be happy anyway. Both Mr. Roy and Ms. Brewer would be fine mayor’s and I feel confident of that.
You know I read on one of the other blogs (sheriffrace) that if you want to get elected you do one of two things. #1.Sell your self to the voters or #2.Tear the other guy down. Seems to me that Roy is doing #1 and Brewer is doing #2.

It really seems Delores is grasping at straws. She is clearly not in her right mind. As was said last time, she is beginning to act a lot like Tilly Snyder and look how he made Alexandria, LA a laughing stock all over the country. She is not fit to be the Mayor of Alexandria. All she is doing is a lot of mud slinging but hey that’s all she can do because she is not qualified to do anything else. I do not live within the city limits but you can be assured if I did, I sure would not give her my vote. She is really going off the deep end, but most desperate people do that and she is really desperate at this point because she knows she has lost this race, because she can not take the pressure of what the job requires, we have seen that through this campaign she can’t take the pressure and is cracking up before the final votes come in. Wake up Alexandria, vote for the most qualified candiate to help bring our city out of the dark ages. Vote for Mr. Roy who has the qualifications and the decency to bring this city forward for a change.

using your mind and your mouth are what politics are all about. It is okay for someone to embrace a new candidate with open arms simply because they desire change. We need new, fresh ideas. We need to keep an open mind and we need to be okay with what the other people may think or choose. Negativity is never the answer for you or for Delores Brewer.
