New Cenla Blog: Cenla Education Watch (Or Notes From The Underground)

An excerpt from the first and only post:

“In the age of No Child Left Behind, states and local districts are struggling to get up to code. This in turn leads to massive headaches for administrators and teachers as we muck our way through a massive comprehensive curriculum that does little to actually aid our students. Try and try as we must little ground is gained through the maze of incomprehensible codes and piles of paperwork that invariably sit upon our desks. Now is the time to voice our opinions. Our world is changing from the days of yore. Our students are becoming more and more unfocused and trapped in a cycle of ennui. How can we fix this? What do you see as a possible solution? As parents, what role do you take in your child’s education?”

  1. Hi, i was looking over your blog and didn’t
quite find what I was looking for. I’m looking for
different ways to earn money… I did find this though…
a place where you can make some nice extra cash secret shopping.
I made over $900 last month having fun!
    make extra money

  2. I noticed the site does not allow anonymous bloggers. I wonder how much of a deterrent that will be. Spoken like a true “anon”. πŸ™‚

  3. Lamar, in light of the new campaign spot Mrs. Brewer began running on KALB-TV news tonight, please post a new thread. Trust me, it’s what people will want to write about. If you missed it, tune into the 10 p.m. news tonight. I think it will be a jaw-dropping experience for you. It will surely go down in history as the worst attack spot in american politics.

  4. I caught just the part about Jacques Roy disrespecting our citizens … I can’t wait to see the whole thing. Has she totally cracked up?????? I can’t believe she had the nerve to make that statement and it’s going to be repeated over and over and over and well you get the point.

  5. Well if that’s all you saw, you missed the worst of it. She said she was a victim of the garden district rapist and that she helped put him behind bars. Then she said that now she has been attacked again–this time by Roy who is disrespecting her and our citizens. Watch on 10 p.m. news on KALB. Then post your reaction.

  6. The violence, fear, and lingering damage of rape on the victim and the people who care about her is one of the worst legacies of a sick human act. To survive, to testify, and to rebuild a happy life is a courageous act of a strong person. But to use such an event to slur the reputation of Mr. Roy and to victimize voters through an appeal for sympathy is the act of a manipulator who cheapens herself, her history, and her future. We all know tragedy, Ms. Brewer, but most of us are living with it quietly, not attempting to use it for some political advantage. Winning isn’t everything; you might start gathering the scraps of your better self about you. Why don’t you just answer the man’s challenge to debate the issues? And please, cancel that commercial. We don’t need any more models for manipulative emotional appeals.

  7. I need to fix some of that. I’ve got some ideas coming and will be publishing a few more works over the weekend.

For now, anonymous posting is not allowed. I’m going back through and allowing it.

  8. Until parents begin raising their children properly, to respect their teachers and theirselves and until parents begin taking an active role in the education of their children the public schools are going to continue their downward spiral.
