Election Predictions
We’re less than a week away. Seven candidates. We all know who they are.
How do you think they’ll finish?
As of today, the completely unofficial and totally unscientific poll in the Town Talk has received over 10,500 votes. It breaks down like this:
Delores Brewer: 30.8%
Joe Fuller: 5.2%
Red Hammond: 3.1%
Roosevelt Johnson: 11.6%
Jacques Roy: 33.2%
John Sams: 8.8%
Charles F. Smith, Jr: 7.4%

These results have 72.8% of the vote going toward three white candidates and only 27.2% going toward four African-American candidates.
The overall racial make-up of Alexandria among registered voters is approximately 52% African-American and 48% white.
This poll implies significant racial crossover.
Will this happen on September 30th? Or are these numbers the result of the poll’s limited sample pool? What do you think?

I watched JR campaign change hundreds by the hour in one hour. Very questionable and much like the rest of his campaign. sick.
the poll had no controls on it and anyone could vote as many times as he or she would like. the tt told me the only restriction was a 30 minute interval between voting from same computer…so there are your results..FAKE.
Actually, I heard the poll worked on a TEN minute interval.
And to the first anonymous: It may make some people slightly uncomfortable, but from the beginning, Jacques Roy has been campaigining on a platform of honesty and government transparency.
Black people don’t have computers.
Remember to be realistic about what these numbers mean. Of the people who went on the TT website and voted–72.8% cast for whites and 27.2% for black candidates. That is the sampling, period. No way the real vote will be 72.8% going to white candidates and 27.7% of the vote going to black candidates. I think the total percentages going for the whites and the blacks is WAY off. Among the whites, I think the TT UNSCIENTIFIC poll does show that Roy gained lots of momentum. However, his base is young people who constantly use the web. Fewer older people go on the internet, but they vote in much greater numbers than young folks. He’ll have to work the old folks, too. For Ms. Brewer, she has to work hard to keep her place in the runoff and hope she can knock roy out now. Runoff with him would be disasterous for her.

Whether or not the poll is scientific or not, I can’t help but believe it doesn’t truly reflect the leaders in the race at this point in time. Everywhere I have been lately, it seems most people are of the opinion these 3 are going to be the ones to beat.
Real polling from two legitimate sources shows Brewer first and Roy in a STRONG 2nd position. Many predict it will be those two in runoff unless Brewer camp comes up with an effective dirt bomb on Roy. On the other hand, I do not believe Roy can knock her out of runoff. Maginnis really helped her. More $ coming in after people read his Fax Weekly. Problem is those numbers were old, but many who read it don’t know that.
