I just sat down and watched ALL of the KALB inteviews of candidates. ITs not even CLOSE. Between Brewers “misspeak” and double talk and Sams arrogance it was not a very high bar to get over. However, standing alone ROY is such a refreshing face and will be very strong against all of the others. Truth be told this is really a black and white race. ROY, BREWER and SAMS just have to beat the other 2 whites and convential wisdom says that the White candidate will be the only candidate able to raise money for the second primary and will win against whichever african american is in the runoff. When I look at Roy against all the candidates he is head and shoulders the best choice. When compared to Sams and Brewer its even MORE likely he is the man to beat.
Sams has been a party to more litigation than anybody else, including Roy. Roy doesn’t cause litigation any more than physicians cause illness or barbers cause hair. It’s a job.
i wish michelle would have shut up and let roy answer the question about chambers. he said he may not even have a chief of staff. then he started touting chambers, and michelle cut him off. i wish i could have heard the rest of roy’s comment
lamar! jesus joseph and mary! roy doesn’t know me. my call won’t even be returned. you are the one with the inside daily phone call with roy, YOU ask him if he will hire harold chambers. i am begining to wonder if something is foul in denmark.

If you want Jacques to tell you that HC will not be a part of his administration, why don’t you just call him?
It sounds to me like you know and respect him and probably would be supporting him if you only hadn’t made up your mind before the deadline for qualifying.
Biff, Next time I promise I will try to shut up. I just have a sense the answer you wanted was not coming. Mr. Roy was aware of the question before hand and as an attorney was well prepared. Any question the blogs have in them is tipping the balance of power in the interview. Why don’t you guys just email your questions idrectly to me and I give my word I will not reveal who you are. Next up ….Mr. Joe Fuller and Ms. Alice Hammond.
You are doing a good job on the blogs and asking the pertinent and relevant questions. Maybe biff is still stinging about the fact that Sams could not help but coming across as a pompous ass in his interview. I can’t remember ever voting for a candidate who told me how much smarter he was than everyone and to basically just shut up and pull the lever. The ship is sinking.
Be sure and ask JOE Fullllea….What he does for a living full time. Ask him what happened to his CONSULTANT contract he had with the people who were in town talkigna bout downtown Condominiums remember? KALB did the story. It pissed ALL the other blacks off in town because he did it behind their backs. ASK HIM. ASK him to name all other contracts or agreements he has with people . This guy is dangerous.
I have a few suggestions for candidates when KALB does the Mayors Forum.
Mr. Smith: Can you explain the difference between the Home Rule Charter and the Home Room Charter?
Mr. Johnson: I know what a City is, and I know what a community is, but what is a City Community?
Dr. Sams: Did they teach you how to be arrogant in Med School or were you simply born that way?
Mr. Fuller: Other than being on the Police Jury, waht exactly do you do for a living? Is any of it legal?
Seriously now, these fellas have some obvious limitations when it comes to speaking the kings english. I am certainly no scholar myself but if you are going to be running a City as large as Alexandria you need to have some minimal public speaking abilities and social skills. These guys just don’t have it. Fuller, Smith, and Johnson speak in ebonic slang. Sams is just an ass who will say anything to anyone regardless of the consequences. Is this what we want for the next four years? I hope not.
I agree with been around the block. Michele is doing an awesome job with the blogs. The blogs have given the community a chance to know and understand the candidates more.
