  1. i just want fuller to explain to us how he has managed to live high on the hog with having a job in the last 20 years. wish i could do that.

  2. If Fuller wins he has said he’ll make Dorsey either his chief of staff or the Director of Public Works.

  3. Pardon me but isn’t this jackass a FELON?????? I swear he was arrested on felony charges for weapons possesion. right? Further, What experience does he have? HE is another one that is trying to darken the city cabinet!!! HELL NO WE WONT GO!!!

  4. Good question for Michelle…ask Joe if he will make a full disclosure of his financials and explain what he does for aliving

  5. Chocolate,

I think that was Louis Marshall who was arrested for weapons posession. Dorsey was arrested years ago for Cocaine posession. He was selling cars at Peter Betts Lincoln Mercury. Word was he took the fall for “da man” and the charges were dropped. Dorsey was also being investigated recently for illegal activities related to hurricane aid. Apparently they didn’t have enough to convict and all was forgiven. I have to warn you about Dorsey, he is as slick as Bill Clinton…and probably voted for him.

  6. Another interesting tidbit about Dorsey I fould on Wikipedia:

On October 23, 1983, Jock Scott was elected to his last term in the legislature. He defeated two Democratic opponents in the jungle primary. He was still a Democrat at the time himself. Scott polled 6,458 of the 11,076 votes cast in the District 27 race, or 58.3 percent. A black candidate, the Reverend Errol Dorsey, drew 1,780 votes (16.1 percent), and the attorney Christopher J. Roy, a law partner of the legendary Alexandrian Camille F. Gravel, Jr., polled 2,838 votes (25. 6 percent).

  7. Dorsey’s cocaine charges were not dropped. He was convicted of felony drug charges and placed on probation. His record may have since been cleaned up but he was actually convicted, as was Councilman Marshall, of federal felony weapons charges. Makes one proud.

  9. Sams new ad on tv and radio says it all–Sams is the closest thing to a cure for corruption. Love it. I cannot understand why so many call for the clean up…see the clear choice who will do it and who can stand up for the citizens and not support Dr. Sams. The guy is the answer.

    The people are responding.

    New poll coming out…hang tight.

Sams has the average every day joe behind him.

  10. Sams knocked on my door last night. Guy is working hard which has surprised me. I did not think I would see that after all the dings he took on here…Sams is getting our entire family vote. I was with Brewer but she has not done anything and is a little to close to the problems to be able to fix em.

  11. Sams maybe a hard working guy ,but he himself publicly announced he is not stopping his doctor practice. How in the world will Alexandria grow when we have a part time mayor? We won’t. We need a full time mayor who is dedicated to the city.. that person is Roy!

  12. Sams is a loose cannon. His handlers are reining him in during the campaign. He has always been one and will continue to do so after the election. What an embarrassment he would be to this city. He also has a problem getting along with other people. He does not compromise. Hell hath no fury like him being crossed. Can you imagine him having a medical emergency with one of his patients while conducting an important meeting? Be careful what you ask for.

  13. My opinion, for what it is worth, is that Delores should have actually said that she did not tell the truth, rather than the mis-speak thing. People can forgive that much easier than not admitting that she was at fault.

I have talked to many of my friends at the hospital, and they all said the same thing… that John Sams is a bully and Slatkin is a jerk.

I was a Delores fan, but with Roy coming on board, I may change my mind.+

  14. Scarlett, you are an example of why I will not vote for DB. When the heat goes up, we can expect shrill shrieking and panic.

  15. Shrill shrieking??? Surely you are not saying my contribution was shrill or shrieking. I have to be real frank here. I’m not really sure about the episode with Delores and Bridgett, but considering who she was talking with and how they have treated her from the very beginning…..I have gotten past that. They were all trying to set her up. They were all thinking of the campaign. Look what they have done to many of the other city employees. I’m not sure Ned truly knows what’s happening most of the time. I do; however, believe that Delores is a good person who has lots of experience in city government. I believe she loves this city and will do what she feels is best for it. I believe she will stand up to those councilmen in every situation, and we all know there will be situations. She has a good grasp on what needs to be done and I think she will do it. She is the one who brought up the City Charter and the need for change. She is a lovely person and will make a competent mayor. I ask you to consider all of this. I ask you to vote for her. BREWER FOR MAYOR.

  16. Scarlett, I agree with all you said and if we were in a civilized time I would possibly vote for her but, we are in a time when the street fighters need to come out and draw blood. We have a council that has used treachery and deceit to pad their pockets while keeping the appearances that they are doing the peoples work. GAEDA is nothing more than a body created to to more of the same with no direct connection to the electorate. Delores was close enough th the inner workings and owed it to the people to raise her voice in protest or alert the appropriate law enforcement agency to happenings within the city. There are two possibilities; 1. she cannnot recognize corruption when she sees it. 2. She went a long with the program.
    Neither is acceptable.

  17. Spanky – I agree with you on GAEDA. I felt that way from the beginning. I know that you are aware that Delores had nothing to do with GAEDA nor was she in any position at the time to do anything about it. First of all, there was nothing illegal about forming the body, it, in my opinion, was just not needed. It was just another avenue to increase the council’s control over the city. People may say that they don’t control GAEDA; however, they have their fingerprints all over it. The Director doesn’t breathe without consulting Myron first. I just don’t understand how you can hold that against her. The mayor should have come out strongly against that and Harold Chambers was the Chief of Staff at that time. I guess we will just have to respectively disagree with one another on the candidates and their qualifications. I would like to take this opportunity to compliment you on being one of the few respectful, informed and stable (sane) voices on these blogs. May the best candidate win this race.
