  1. Oh No! You mean there is a world outside Alexandria? Yea I noticed. I also noticed that Korea has been semi quiet since the Japanese mentioned a strike. Then there’s the bombings in India and a heck of a fight still going on in France. That one is just under the radar lately. The price of oil is going up again and Microsoft is stiffing the EU. Is there any good news out there?

  2. Thank you Lamar for again getting to the heart of the matter. Central Louisiana is important, but what is happening in the Holy Land scares the living daylights out of me and I can’t get anyone around me to notice how essential paying attention to this issue is.

  3. KALB news did a nice article on the Indian Summer Camp in Elton… Nice to see positve items on the news..

  4. Michele G, it’s good to see you haven’t abandoned us due to some of the negativity here on the blogs. Keep up the great work.

As long as Iran and Syria are allowed to keep funding Hamas and Hezbollah, there will be continued unrest in the region. This entire flareup can be traced to Iran and Syria.

  5. thanks for the props…but there is no rest for the weary. i trust Lamar’s blog more than others. What i want to know is if there is a local interest in what is happening in the middle east. every day i see people from the region who live here with ties to both sides of the issue living and working in harmony…does anyone know a local contact who could talk about it?

  6. Okay. I’ll mark your words. In the next two days, show us someone in the media who blamed this on Bush. It won’t happen.

    Damn conservative bias.

  7. Let me get this straight
we saw that, if the Cubans kidnapped soldiers at Gitmo, you think the US shouldn’t call that an act of war? Should the US ignore the action? Negotiate a hostage trade? What would you do if you were in that situation?

  8. that would never happen because the usa actually leases gitmo from the cuban government and has for years. although it should be noted that cuba has never cashed a check. you’re comparing apples to oranges. and by the way we’ve actually been to gitmo and no not as prisoners.

  9. The blame lies with Iran and Syria, period. Without their support in financing and weaponry there would be no war right now.

  10. the same could be said for america’s financing and arming of the zionist israeli government as well.

  11. And what would you have us do with Israel? Allow them to be driven to the sea? How freakin moronic is that? If not for us they would already not exist. By the way, we also provide funding, well we did, for the Palestinians.

  12. god has said that he protects his people and his land. who are we to interfere in gods plan?

  13. We saw that, you avoid the issue with Gitmo. Are you saying Cuba can’t “kidnap” a US soldier because we’re leasing the territory? Inside the lines of Gitmo, it’s de facto US territory. Outside of Gitmo, it’s a foreign country. Though we’re not in a state of open hostility with Cuba, one could easily say it’s not a government we’d call a friend.

Let’s change the geography. Say it’s a Bosnian soldier kidnapped by a Serbian militia near their border. What would be the response then? If you think it’s apple to oranges again, then why?

  14. yes we are saying that cuba cant kidnap an american soldier. for one thing you cant get within miles of the boundary and no one would want to go near the boundary line even if they could.

as far as the bosnian and serbian question you pose well we dont have a clue as to what either the bosnian or serbian policies call for in the event that such a thing take place.

  15. We Saw That, did you take part in debate in your past?;)

The mideast is getting scary. If some country cannot calm down Israel AND Hezbollah, the carnage will make the “67” Six day war look like an Alex council meeting.

  16. A couple of family friends are stuck in Isreal. They said they were told to evacuate weeks ago by the U.S. but no one took them seriously cosnidering it’s hard to just up and leave your job and home. Now it’s said that this is the largest evacuation since WWII. Are we really ready for a III?

  17. What ever happened to the use of special forces going into a country for surgical extraction/rescue of hostages? Israel seems to have used the capture of 2 soldiers to engage a full scale invasion of Lebanon, causing another humanitarian crisis and throwing gas on the fire of regional conflict.

  18. IF they knew where they’re being kept I suppose that would make a good argument. Do you know where they are? Have you ever negotiated with a terrorist? If so, I’m sure they’ll want to hear from you on your expertise on the subject. Otherwise you have no clue what you’re talking about.
