Dr. John Sams for Mayor: Read What Other People Are Saying About John Sams For Mayor

I know Dr. Sams’ website is brand new, but c’mon, this is still funny.

I also enjoyed this line about his son Andy: Yes, my son DID found the first high school ACLU chapter in Louisiana. Yes, I supported his right to do so and do not regret it. My children have all been raised to be individuals who stand up for what they believe is correct BUT…..THEY are not running for Mayor of Alexandria.

  1. Earlier today I saw a banner ad on the Town Talk website for John Sams campaign. Needless to say, but the photograph of Sams’ head in the ad is a new synonym for “bowling ball.” Someone on the campaign approved that mess of a banner ad?

  2. Exactly. I appears as if the Sams campaign is finding it difficult testimonials. I kid, I kid.

  3. I had to dig around a little to find everything. Dr. Sams is not lacking in self confidence. His main points do make sense. Do any of the other candidates have sites up?

  4. I’m not sure if anyone else has launched a website yet, but this isn’t really a surprise: Dr. Sams has been campaigning longer and harder than anyone else so far.

By the way, I also really enjoy the office-related clip art throughout the site.

  5. sams is an amazingly energetic individual. at least up to this point, it’s as if no one else is running. i’m sure that will change as the election draws near.

  6. How can you take him seriously – he is supposedly an intelligent physician – somehow I doubt he graduated from Tulale Medical School – maybe it was Tulane? anyone else notice typos throughout the site?

This puts in him in the same category as CFS who calls Tri State Industries – TriSteel. When you sit at the table with companies you should at least get their name correct!

  7. Note to council and Bridgett Brown……

Baton Rouge does NOT rhyme with Fudge!!!!!!

  8. Androgynous Pat, THAT was good. I took a class with Dr. Osborne back in the day, and I’m sure that a morphed photo of her and Ebert would yield something quite similar to the “bowling ball” head mentioned above by someone else.

  9. Don’t get me (too) wrong….I like Dr. Osborne…good lady and fine teacher….but………

  10. Isn’t it interesting that (on his web site) Dr. Sams doesn’t know how to spell the word “integrity”?

PS – I’m sure after he reads this comment, he’ll correct it!

  11. John Sams does slightly resemble somewhat the professor and the movie critic. Let’s face it folks, John Sams looks like that character from Star Wars. I am not a big Star Wars fan, only saw a couple of them. The big character sitting around smoking a hookah? I don’t think it was Yoda, but something else… Help me out.

  12. I don’t trust anybody who has ANYTHING to do with the ACLU. No matter what he says, his actions says he supports the ACLU.

  13. Yeah. His words and his actions indicate that he didn’t necessarily support the ACLU, but he did support his son’s right to create a chapter of the organization at Bolton. (In my opinion, that’s a characteristic of a good parent).

  14. If you can find a more non-liberal super conservaitive non-ACLU republican than John Sams, vote for him. He and his conservative methodist wife are blessed with a brilliant gifted kid who had his own thoughts and opinions and they decided to encourage his growth and development and they did the right thing. We likely won’t see the likes of Andy Sams in these parts again unless he is flying over in Air Force 1 or mentioning us in their Nobel acceptance speech.

  15. sams is on to something about this corruption thing…i will vote for him for that alone and believe me my neighborhood has seen it up close and personal. we are tired of the deals because they forget us except on election day. sams needs to bring outr more on the corruption down there at city hall.

  16. I just saw a tv ad for Sams. Nicely done. Someone knows what they are doing with him becuase he comes off better than I have ever seen him. This must be a second ad because the first was very good too. Compliments go to whoever got him to look and sound good on tv. Probably KJA because they do the hospitals.

  17. “I just saw a tv ad for Sams. Nicely done. Someone knows what they are doing with him becuase he comes off better than I have ever seen him.”

Well, it must have been David Blaine, Chris Angel or GOD, cuz it would take an illusionist or a miracle to make that ugly fucker look good………. IMO.

  18. I don’t care what he looks like as long as he is effective and cleans things up. Sams will do just that.

  19. I’m certainly voting for Sams. Despite what others say, I respect the man and his family. I went to school with his eldest child and met the man on several occasions all of which were positive (pre-SB/mayoral race).

  20. Good Lord………I saw an ad for Sams over the weekend. My husband and I looked at each other and said “What was that???” It was one of the worst ads I’ve ever seen. It was so busy and Sams really did look wierd in it. I couldn’t understand what he was saying. I honestly thought, “Who in the world is his campaign manager or media advisor?”

  21. saw that same ad and thought it was good someone was talking issues. I liked that a great deal. Face it this is not a beauty contest…or several of the candidates would be out of there.

  22. that ad delivers a pretty good message and stands out from everything else on tv…which is pretty smart. KJA is doing those.

  23. I am not “anonymous” but cannot give my email because it will get me in trouble…I agreed with about 1/2 of what he says on the tv spots…the other part does not matter to me one iota.

  24. Uhhh…I can say unequivocally that KJA did NOT produce the Sams For Mayor TV commercials.
