By the way, I received that information from the Louisiana Secretary of State through another source. My discovery of these records was not due to my own ingenuity. However, I still am interested in answering the question: Why?
I mean no ill-will toward any of the individuals listed, but they are all, through official and unofficial channels, big players in local government. The way I see it there are two options:
1. They forgot to file the report, and they didn’t realize that this would create a problem.
or
2. The failure to disclose this report is indicative of an unwillingness to expose the details of their activities.
Either way, they have to understand what this looks like to the public, and hopefully, we’ll receive a valid answer to these questions… and hopefully, they’ll treat this situation with respect and dignity.

The reason for their failure to file a report is insignificant. The real tale is the existance of this entity at all. Consulting fees are synonymous with kick backs in this situation. What do these folks have on their respective or collective resume that would make their consultative input of value? And this goes on under our noses with absolute impunity. CHANGE!!!!
Good point.
I assume Karen Lawson is related to Myron??? The city attorney is in business with an attorney who does business with the city and one of the city councilman’s relatives????? Hello!
Yeah. Well, there aren’t exactly any laws prohibiting this type of arrangement, and unless they are being paid by our tax dollars to “consult” on city projects, there really isn’t any conflict of interest. If, however, this proves to be the case, well, they’ll have some questions to answer.
Look at the ethics laws again Lamar. This just doesn’t pass the “smell” test.
Not so. If some contractor with the city directly or indirectly funnels $ to city attorney, a city bonding attorney, city councilman’s wife, for some bullshit consultation that is at least a patent ethics violation and more than likely a crime. The brown bag, the Soprano envelope, and the briefcase full of cash left on the front seat are the old way. The new way is the consulting contract. Why else would they come up with a consulting entity? Why not just act in the open as a lawyer or whatever the hell Ms. Lawson (this is Myron’s wife) does.
Bloggin aint reporting. Put all this together and send to Ethics Commission and the Attorney General and the Town Talk.
This is public record. If a real journalist and not a “blogger” wants to report on it, the information is out there.
Of course, we don’t know if this entity ever did business. But the very fact of it’s creation is the smoking gun of intent. There is no other reasonable explanation for this LLC formed in this place with these people at this time.
