  • “Young Leaders” for Landrieu

    Earlier today, I had the special privilege of introducing Senator Mary Landrieu at a “Young Leaders” press conference on the steps of the Capitol building in Baton Rouge. Daniel and I took the day off, drove down to Baton Rouge, and met up with Ryan of the Daily Kingfish and Drew Ward (who blogs here). There were around forty “young leaders” from all corners of the State as well as several members of the State Legislature and of course, a handful of people from the media.   • McSame Visiting Louisiana This Week

    Arizona Senator and presumptive Republican nominee John McCain will be spending a couple of days in Louisiana this week, according to his campaign website. On June 3rd, McCain will be holding a rally in Kenner– Governor Jindal’s old stomping ground– at the Ponchartrain Center. Doors open at 7PM. Then, the next morning, McCain will be holding a “town hall” meeting at the Baton Rouge River Center.   • Notes on a Driving Tour of Alexandria

    First Draft: This is a work in progress. Throughout the past few weeks, I’ve been discussing Alexandria on a personal level and the potential and opportunities presented by the community’s renewed spirit and by the nearly $100 million infrastructural project known as SPARC. Last week, Daniel Smith, Melinda Anderson, and I took a tour of Alexandria. We were scoping out provisional historical districts and properties, in preparation for a visit by the State Historic Preservation Office (which was covered in today’s newspaper).
