  • The True Story ofu0026nbsp;CenLamarLaunched in 2006 as the personal website of Alexandria resident Lamar White, Jr., CenLamar has become a leading repository and discussion board for issues facing those who live and work in Central Louisiana. With over 1,300 posts and nearly 10,000 individual comments, CenLamar has covered and reported on a wide range of topics: local music, historic preservation, economic development, smart growth, folklore, sports, and politics, among others. It has been referenced by a variety of statewide and national media publications, and this year, for the second time, it was named Central Louisiana’s Best Local Website by the readers of Cenla Focus. CenLamar is published and edited by Lamar White, Jr., a native of Alexandria, Louisiana who is currently working in public service, as an assistant to the Mayor of his hometown. Lamar is a graduate of Alexandria Senior High School and Rice University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Religious Studies.
