Today, in America, we’re literally turning off traffic lights and demolishing roads in order to save money. Here in Louisiana, our flagship university system, LSU, is facing across the board cuts. The LSU AgCenter (LSU was founded on agriculture education) may have to eliminate nearly a quarter of its budget. We’re shuttering hospitals. We’re slashing funding for the arts. And yet our Governor is opposed to accepting stimulus money (even though he doesn’t really practice what he preaches).
