How many predict that 12,000 or more voters turn out? … Because the Town Talk poll is over that number now. Actually, I think that’s likely to happen. But I seriously doubt this next stat will:
According to their poll, the three white candidates will get a whopping 73% of the total vote.
I hate to tell you this but the TT poll is kinda flawed. I lost the vote pool we had going. I only got in 185 votes before we called it yesterday. The winner made 317.
“Anonymous said… tigers…who cares. no matter what roy will loose the election. run off between roy and roose? brewer supporters wont vote or will vote for roosevelt.
3:20 PM”
No Einstein, the Tigers will loose the dogs of war on State.
Hey, WE SAW THAT–The TT poll is “kinda” flawed? Ground control to Major Tom… What a space cadet! There’s virtually no scientific sampling involved. It means nothing, nada, dude.
If the term “dirty” means informing the voting public of all the unethical crap the chief of staff did while part of the current admin, then I’m all for dirty. It just lets the voters know a little more about who’s running. If we all just believed what the candidates said about themselves, then we would all think every candidate wanted to support everything the majority likes and oppose everything the majority dislikes (ex. take a look at roosevelt’s 10 point plan) Where’s the fun in that? You really need to have a reason to support a candidate, other than you’re related to them or you expect something from them after they’re elected. If everyone sounded the same and nobody ever shined the light on the truth, all votes cast would be those expecting favors or those who don’t really care who wins. That way, the candidate who is most qualified and ethical doesn’t have any kind of advantage. Sometimes there is a need to prove that someone is unqualified or that someone is just plain stupid, because her campaign has enough money to mask that fact.
This woman is not a good person at heart. She doesn’t care about people. She cares about herself.
I know Jacques Roy. He’s a good person. Yea, he’s young. So what? So is Bobby Jindal and most people in this part of the state voted for him in the last election for Governor. Yes, Jindal is a Republican. So am I! Most people voted for jindal because of the fact that he’s young and they wanted a change from what we’ve had in the past. What’s the difference in this race? Don’t stick to party lines here. They don’t mean anything at the local level because there usualy aren’t many candidates qualified to do the job on either side. That’s the exception in this race. There is one candidate who stands head and shoulders above the rest. So you may not like the fact that his campaign sent out the mailers this week. What if he hadn’t? Then many people wouldn’t know the truth about Delores Brewer. The fact is that someone needed to inform you and none of the other candidates had the budget or the guts to do it.
When you step into the voting booth today, really think about what you’ve heard the candidates say in response to questions at forums or on video blogs etc.. Think about the person that you believed to answer the questions honestly and openly. Think about those who dodged questions about corruption in city government, under the table deals. Think about who you really really think would do the best job moving this city forward, regardless of race, age, sex, or political party and cast your vote for that person. I believe if everyone does that, then the best most qualified candidate will prevail.
I will not choose a candidate until they all meet at the median at Jackson and McArthur and display their physical prowess by rounds of fisticuffs. I think if we want a clean race we should settle it like cavemen.
I don’t think DR. Sams, God’s gift to Alexandria, can make it to the fisticuffs display today. I just spotted him letting his dog crap in a neighbor’s yard. What an arrogant jerk! Does he think we residents of Park Place don’t mind his rudeness? Perhaps he knows his candacy is doomed and he doesn’t have to pretend to give a damn about about anyone else anymore?
Moneymaker is so right with his comments. If the people of Alexandria do not elect JACQUES ROY for mayor they better get ready to cry themselves to sleep because this city will go to hell. So be smart and don’t fuck this up.
Damn, moneymaker was burning his midnight oil coming up with that purdy formation of words. I hope that people did the right thing, but if they didn’t I will see you on the median. And I’m bringing my yardman.
The pollsters don’t know how to call this one. After 20 years with such a popular figure as Mayor Randolph, it is difficult for them to crunch the numbers. The fact that there are 7 candidates along with the demographics of the city, make for a very interesting night tonight.
Roy: 29%
Brewer: 21%
Johnson: 20%
Fuller: 15%
Sams: 6%
Smith: 6%
Hammond: 3%
Tigers will lay the smack down on State. Look for MF and RP to get some reps in 2nd half.
tigers…who cares.
no matter what roy will loose the election. run off between roy and roose? brewer supporters wont vote or will vote for roosevelt.
Bull s_ _ _. They will cast a vote for Roy if their candidate doesn’t make it. Same think if it’s the other way around.
johnson 24%
sams 22%
delores 21%
roy 19%
fuller 12%
hopefully, all here will reflect on the candidates, the campaign they have waged, and vote for sams.
I am so tired of all of this I am going out tonight to find some good street drugs to put myself into a coma………….
LSU will win. It might even be a runaway.
I hope all of you will vote. This is not only your future but your childrens. Vote!
I’m looking for a prediction.

Way to go Town Talk!!
Biff—you are an eternal optimist—against all odds- I like you anyway! 🙂
Go vote– for whoever– it is your right and duty–many people died to give you that right.
I hate to tell you this but the TT poll is kinda flawed. I lost the vote pool we had going. I only got in 185 votes before we called it yesterday. The winner made 317.
LSU Sucks!

Roy will not lose the election.

Hey, WE SAW THAT–The TT poll is “kinda” flawed? Ground control to Major Tom… What a space cadet! There’s virtually no scientific sampling involved. It means nothing, nada, dude.
It ALWAYS turns dirty in the end.
Candidates platforms and ideas always give out to the crude rashness of human behavior.

Hey Moneymaker:
Pretty early in the a.m. (3:40) for such a well thought out comment. Very sound reasoning if anyone will read it for what it’s worth.
I was sick of the negative and voted for Sams at 8:00 am as did my entire family.
I will not choose a candidate until they all meet at the median at Jackson and McArthur and display their physical prowess by rounds of fisticuffs. I think if we want a clean race we should settle it like cavemen.

Clearly he isn’t committed to honest politics if he isn’t willing to beat the hell out of someone on a main thoroughfare!
Moneymaker is so right with his comments. If the people of Alexandria do not elect JACQUES ROY for mayor they better get ready to cry themselves to sleep because this city will go to hell. So be smart and don’t fuck this up.
