The doctor is over and out. On his way to full-time practice again on Monday. But it would have been fun to run against him in runoff. There’s so much to use to make negative mailers and TV spots with.

I would seek medical treatment at Charity Hospital before I would have Dr. Sams as my doctor! And for those of you who do have him as your doctor, never, ever, ask for a second opinion. You will receive one of his famous letters “firing” you as his patient.

It’s time to give Doctor Sams a break. He has some good ideas, some good kids, a great wife and a ticket back to private life. He now knows that successfully accusing a candidate of being a lawyer does not make smart voters choose the doctor. He also knows now that being smarter than everyone, just like in high school, cannot make up for an inability to work with others and form consensus. So, now that he knows all of this, it’s time for us to give him a break! We’ll feel better about ourselves in the morning.

I heard that Dr. Sams got bit in the neck by a dog while campaigning in Jackson Sreet median this afternoon. Anybody know the story on that? If so, is he OK?

He seemed to be fine leaving the area, although he was bleeding. I was a dog of one of his supporters. Freak accident kind of thing…Jacques actually walked over to see if he was O.K. (they were campaigning in the same area) Sams was a trooper & walked back to his headquarters. I didn’t see him come back to that specific area.

I was wondering what the deal was. I saw him talking with Jacque, holding his neck, and he continued to hold it after Jacque went back to his supporters. This was over by Church’s chicken. The atmosphere was almost festive.
