Give me a break. You guys are in for a rude awakening. You sound as if Roy is the second coming. Delores has a solid lead and will continue to do so. Believe me, she is not losing her support. You all are really something to observe. That’s what life is all about…living and learning.
“Living and Learning?” Just how many years does it take to learn? We cannot be defined by age. Delores is running on experience.
Third Street was her baby and she didn’t even know how the funding came to the City after they received the appropriation from the federal government! COME ON!!!! She was capital projects director for how many years????? What exactly did she learn during that time?
She has ethics problems.

Her ads are really weak. That flag looks like it is about to fall down in one of them…Sams ads are more on point and have more real issues in them like lowering utilities, honesty, integrity, creating jobs, accountability. He is making a better impression through out the campaign.

Delores Brewer is the most qualified candidate in the field of 7. She definately has the best TV spots, only one of which has run so far. Anyone who believes those awful Sams spots are well done or have an effective message need to take a Politics 101 class. Read her campaign finance report. That’s impressive, too.
Television spots and finance reports do not mean Delores is the most qualified.
DB has the stiffest ad in the campaign so far.
Compare: Sams ads say accountability, ethics, honesty and integrity…jobs, schools and fight crime…
Her ads do not. Her ads says she can create jobs…no experience in that arena…and has a big problem with depth…she has none.

Delores’ experience makes her the most qualified. But for you political neophites, what will help her to WIN is her campaign strategy, her 4 different targeted TV spots, direct mail all made possible by her campaign warchest. A candidate who does not use polling simply does not know where he stands. I believe Sams and his supporters stay busy kidding themselves about the level of his support. If he is as intelligent as he claims to be, he should know that he is not in the lead.
her experience is flimsy, at best. most of her so-called accomplishments were actually accomplished by other people in the administration. don’t take my word for it. ask the people who worked with her.
delores was hired as a secretary and rose up the ranks. she’s not as smart as you think.

As far as I’m concerned “Anonymous” has no credibility. If your so passionate about what u stand for then why hide behind Anonymous? For all I know you could be from Pineville. People only hide their true identity when there fabricating up stories,when their trying to use these childish playground tactics to belittle all these leaders and their familys. After reading all of these posts on CenLamar’s blog I’ve been dissapointed, better yet disgusted with what these ” Anonymous ” people have to add to what is supposed to be a constructive blog. It just shows the true colors of these “bold” “anonymous” people. If you can’t stand up for what u say and hide behind a mask then I’m not going to listen to anything anonymous has to say. Grow up and say something constructive. It reminds me of some grade school kids arguing over a swing at recess.
The definition for anonymous is 1. Nameless or unnamed. 2. Of unknown source.

Also, WHO is the real Delores Brewer? She wears protective eye goggles “inside and not in a goggle zone” (its to show us she is in dangerous area nodding like her head is going to fall off) She pushes two little kids down SOMEONE ELSES front steps NOT EVEN HER KIDS, NOT EVEN HER HOUSE. TOTALLY POSED!!! (its supposed to show us she loves children and has a nice house) WHY didnt she show her OWN kids? Then she walks down steps of church awkwardly holding her husbands hand. Well, Ive been to St James, never seen her there. And her uncomfortable handshakes outside Hibernia Bank bldg . Hell, during her administration there were not THAT many people down town to shake hands with! Isnt the Hibernia bank where mastermind Provosty located??? And who ya lookin at when you tell us you wanna be Mayor? If you can’t look me in the eye then dont ask for my vote.
I want my Mayor to be REAL. NOT posed, not lying about family,abilities or integrity. Be who you are. Mispeak and all.
Pretty colors and nice photos are good for selling soap. Misleading adds make some of us that much more determined to vote for someone else.

The mother in DB’s campaign spots seeing the two boys off to school is not Delores. That was another person. Delores’ strategist would not put her in the spot with fake kids. What a ridiculous notion. The scene was there because that part of the commercial talked about families. Campaign spots often feature people around the candidate and other scenes from the local area. (Unless of course, you are Sams, who only shows himself and his wife.) Sounds like someone is afraid that DB’s commercials are too good.
Her ads are cannned and not very good. That is the truth. She looks a bit posed and seems like she is being propped in every shot…she does not wear goggles but there she is faking it…she did not send kids to school but there she is with rented kids faking it…she did not have a backdrop in one shot so they put up a flag and faked it…I talked to one of the ladies in the ad and she was very displeased. She is standing there and clapping on cue not for real but on some out of town director’s cue…sad…and just like much of DB–fake and staged.
roy is in the phone book chasing cases which is commonplace for a trial lawyer….face it..the truth is he is a trial lawyer.
This is a Db blog…and back to the thing about her ad…I give it a “C” and yes…Sams earns an A on being creative and well done…Closest thing to a Cure for Corruption came from one of his volunteers I heard…and they are getting through on it too…He has been working the issues well.
delores is in free fall while sams is steadily moving up. delores’ main problem is her exposure. she should hide out until the election. the more people know her the less her chances.
brewer got a little bounce this week because of her commercials….but i hear from those inside that the bounce didnt last….its like ..throwing your best punch…and having the other fighter not even flinch….her chances are truly dwindling and she has YET to even face any of the negative stuff that is coming her way ..its part of politics…
According to her last campaign finance report, she had already spent $76,000 out of $127,000. At that point, Roy had spent only $17,000 out of $44,000. Delores is basically running as an incumbent (Ned’s designee), so she probably “has her vote” at this point. She will not get new supporters.
Most of her contributors are Ned cronies or those who currently do business with the City. They have more money than votes.
Interestingly, David Pugh has contributed to both Brewer ($2,000) and Roy ($1,000). We wonder if the apportionment is based on early poll results.
Those rich folks or “Ned cronies” are still the real power in this town, though things are changing due to white flight and increased black population. Since money is the fuel needed for a sucessful campaign, the rich are likely to get their way in this election. In fact, they will put their choice in office until the African American voters have enough of an edge on them to make it numerically impossible to get their pick in. We’ll probably have our last white mayor this time and it will probably be the person they are backing.
A rather interesting question about Delores’s college degree. Like, does she really have one, in what, from where, and when? We might have us another figure of speech here.
Yes, she has a college degree from L.C. That’s such an easy thing to check, so anyone who doubts it, should call L.C. to verify, or go on one of those online services that check credentials. You people are grasping at straws. You must be desperate to rescue your drowning candidates.
Just saw a new poll..independent numbers NOT mine ….and…it says….. Delores is second to Roy in Whites and Fuller and Johnson are neck and neck. Looks like Brewer is out. This poll was taken the week AFTER she started TV so I suspect they will even be worse for her after Roy starts his TV.

Delores Brewer aided and abeted Harold Chambers in signing off on Fact Sheets to deceive the public in his quest to have the Chambers property at the I49 Macarthur Drive exit incorporated wrongly into the city limits to obtain zoning, potential railroad access and to get higher priced citified billboard installations, six double, in order to receive much greater monthly rental royalties from each and greatly enhance the property value.
City personnel were used to finagle technicalities in highway rights-of-way as if there were no I49 exizting yet thereby duping (HA!) rhe City Council.
This type of ability by the Capitol Projects Coordinator/Chief of Staff should not be background to qualify for Mayor.
You have part of that right. Chambers ordered and got Williamson and Craig to go along with the city providing 100% of the cost of putting in infrastructure in Chamber’s brother in law’s subdivision development. This was quite a problem because the council had passed an ordinance to provide only 50% of the cost. This was discovered while Chambers was on administrative leave re: the CLECO stuff b/c he was not there to cover his tracks. When Ned, and his attorneys and Delores found out, they asked Williamson about it and he readily admitted that Chambers ordered he and Craig to sign off on this. (He later recanted that statement after Harold got a hold of him.) The Council was informed and Ned and the staff put an immediate stop to the city paying the 100% of this infrastructure. The mayor and his attorneys also went to see the Legislative Auditor and the Attorney General to report what had happened. That is the real reason those 3 had to go. Because the potential illegal activity was stopped, though, the lawyers thought it best to settle the lawsuit for peanuts. They advised Ned not to release the info since the trio was gone and the activity had been stopped. But the 3 guys just can’t leave it alone and spew venom toward the Mayor and Mrs. Brewer. The trio still refuses to take any responsibility for their own behavior. But some of us who know the real story cannot allow you guys to pin the debacle on Delores. I for one, think Ned should have had a press conference and told all–even though they were able to stop it…because the public wanted to know.
The part about Delores aiding and abetting Harold Chambers re: his property at I-49 and MacArthur is a BIG LIE and you know it.
Will Mr. Delores still be able to sell insurance or whatever he does to governmental agencies where the new Delores administration, if it be so, heaven forbid,could exert influence or will he have to divest himself of those arrangements that he may presently have? What then will he be able to do as Mr. Delores? Maybe get appointed to some salaried board or quasi-governmental entity.

comment has not addressed the I-49 interchange property facts. It only elicited another facet of what went on at the highest department levels of the City administaration.
Mr. Brewer could not do business with the city if his wife is elected. He DOES NOT currently do any business with the city anyway. He would be allowed to do business with other governmental entities such as parish or state. However, he would not be able to do business with England Authority or any entity containing city appointed leadership.
