Let me understand this. Someone alleges Cleco is stealing from the citizens. City asks for documents that will either prove it true or untrue. Cleco REFUSES to give City access to docuements but claims it is not guilty of anything.
Cleco sues people who alleges they are stealing. People who blow whistle try to get documents and information to prove that they are telling the truth. CLECO hires Judges former lawclerk and best friend who has no experience in Cleco stuff. Cleco tries to silence whistelblowers. Cleco tries to put a bill through the legislature to keep City of Alex from being able to recover.
Cleco then makes cozy with blacks on cousil including Hiram Cuma Lauda Sanders. “Hey we aint guilty and to show you , we will agree to an “in de pend ent” au dit” The blacks all cheer, Cleco people cheer, ciitzens have blank stare. Sounds good. CEPT, the Auditor is an employee of CLECO >?!?!?!?!?! Damn these bastards have NO shame. They hold peace conferences with guns and audits that are not independet. THESE GUYS ARE CROOKED AS A SNAKE. Now watch carefully as CHARLES FREDERICK SMITH tries to rescue Cleco yet again…watch carefully because he will once again attempt to protect them. Remember Smiths boss is the Sheriff. The sheriffs son works for Cleco….connect the dots and watch for the next episode of this tragedy. -
Consider the possibility that Sanders was instructed to drag this thing out beyond the Council elections so that the evidence and discovery stays under wraps.

Smith and others cannot allow themselves to be deposed under oath. Nothing will happen with Cleco until after the elections and then it depends on who is in what office. Book it.

Is it possible to get copies of the depositions of the counsel and cleco people online? Lamar, do you think you could get Mr Roy to let you put them online? That should tell us a lot for ourselves. I bet they are already on disc or something so it wouldnt be hard to load if you could get them. Is that possible?

If it is possible to post these depositions online, believe me, I will. They are definitely a matter of public interest, affecting the decision-making process of the electorate.

the real scandal is in city hall and not cleco…Ask the employees that were let go for no cause other than trying to work with cleco to solve a made up problem. ask Ken juneau who influenced the mayor to sign a ridiculous contract sharing half savings with david Pugh who owes Juneau a substantial amount of money. ask billy gunn who is jaque roy’s running buddy and will print anything he tells him to. Why would anyone sign a contract sharing half of savings, if savings are as large as stated? ask sam sansing why he is still unemployed. reason…the business he was in went down with enron debacle and he can only feed like a leech on something that most likely does not exist. knowing how things go at cleco the city probably owes cleco. be careful what is asked for since cleco contracts with city probably did not get reviewed by competent counsel and do not favor city. why would city agree to kpmg and then at last minute say there is a problem?

thanks anon. we’ve always said that it was cleco being shook down. just look at the collusion on the cities part. ned randolph hiring charlie weems to defend the city in one cleco lawsuit – weems promptly moves the suit to federal court to his law partners (dee drell) courtroom.
then in yet another cleco lawsuit you have judge george metoyer sitting in on that suit yet his wife works for the city of alexandria. – this was ok’d by the ethically challenged new judge patricia koch. all this despite the most liberal interpretation of both the federal and state canons for judicial conduct which are ignored.
its amazing that most people cant see and understand that what we have is the shakedown of a major louisiana utility by a host of colluding judges, lawyers and politicians.

what about the unmentioned action in clown talk when council approved ken juneau contract (co. now owned by david pugh) at same meeting he reduced his fee on cleco investigation so city could bring on a cut for all the law firms being hired. Looks like a back room deal and smell to high heaven. roy probably told billy gunn not to bring it up. cleco could use a lot of help in contract administration though they’re not smart enough to cheat, only sloppy so its 50/50 whether city will get anything. also what is association of hired attorneys and city hall gang/ one lawyer works out of same building. if depositions had anything roy would have already ordered billy gunn to publish, but it would be a good idea to look anyway.

And the title on this string seems confusing. The AUDIT is not in Jeaporday. It appears that CLECO and their unbiased AUDIT OR is in jeapordy. If they won’t even be honest with the audit process why should anyone believe that they will be forthcoming from this point forward. This is not a shakedown of a big company its a day of reckonning. Its pretty simple. HEY CLECO if you are not guilty then jsut turn over the damn documents. The protestith too much.

you make our argument for us. if you were cleco and were facing this nexus of judicial/lawyer/politician collusion thats going on you would fight just as hard to ensure that your rights were protected. cleco owes it to their customers and shareholders.
also we arent so naive as to make a blanket statement that cleco is blameless however, they do deserve a fair and impartial hearing. we cant see how thats being done here. -
Look, NUMBERS DON’T LIE!!!!!! There is nothing subjective about this case. Either it IS or either it AIN’T. There is no middle. If the Judge doesn’t make the right ruling, then the appeals system will. This isn’t about poor CLECO getting the shaft, it is about showing ALL OF YOUR CARDS when you deal with a municipality. That rule applies to EVERYONE….even CLECO.

I think the mess at city hall where you have an administration with lawyers who don’t communicate with each other and allegations by disgruntled former employees pulling political strings and a council who is not kept informed shows that nobody is in charge. How can cleco and city get justice due to both when this is the situation. Everett Hobbs was right, no matter what your opinion. get somebody who is in charge at city, can control all the factions wanting to feed off an imaginary gold mine and get at the truth. With all the parties involved, the citizens of alexandria will probably never see a dime of any benefits because all the money if there is any will go to consultants and lawyers who are making the big stink. Sad, since the utility bills are so very high and only going higher

I agree with WE SAW THAT completely.. FULL Disclosure is the best way. YOU WILL NOT GET THAT IN A HIDDEN AUDIT which is what CLECO wants. THE ONLY way to get the facts is to subpeona the documents and put the people under oath and in front of a judge or jury. SO I am glad the audit is off. TAKE IT TO COURT. THAT IS THE ONLY PLACE TRUTH MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE. HURRAY for the BATON ROUGE ATTYS and for MAYOR AND BREWER. WHY is Bridgette her lawpartner Sanders and the counsil afraid of sunlight and truth? Lets go to court with this !
