Allow me to take a departure into nati…

Allow me to take a departure into national politics:
When I was ten years old, I really liked listening to Rush Limbaugh. I even read one of his books, The Way Things Out To Be, which begins, “By the time you have wisely purchased this book (book for those of you in Rio Linda, California), most critics will have undoubtedly savaged it. In many cases, their reviews will have been written before the book was published. How do I know this? Because I do.” It seems like maybe his psychic powers that I admired so much as a ten-year-old were actually drug-induced. So, I’m adding Rush to my mug shot collection, right next to the picture of Tom Delay, because their smiles are so similiar. To me, the basic fact that I identified so closely with Rush AS A TEN-YEAR-OLD speaks volumes about the intellectual depth and worldly sophistication of his “conservative” theories.

lmao when we saw limbaugh’s photo on drudge last night we immediately thought of tom delay’s similar mugshot. good post.

Do you have Teddy (Killer) Kennedy’s mug shot in your collection?

  3. Lamar White, Jr. Avatar

Nope. I don’t have Ted Kennedy’s mugshot in my collection for two reasons:
    1. I can’t seem to find one.
    2. It’s not exactly “news.”

I love this Republican device. As Ana Marie Cox says, “In case of emergency, break glass and make fun of Teddy Kennedy.”

  4. Anonymous Avatar

No big surprise Lamar that you would not relate to the conservative ideals of Limbaugh. Maybe that explains the warmth you feel for Myron and his political leanings….

  5. Lamar White, Jr. Avatar

Anonymous, my friend, you are a complete and total moron. But thanks for attempting to obscure and conflate two totally different issues into one poorly constructed attempt at humor.

I wonder how Jesus feels about the culture of corruption that seems to have overtaken “God’s” party.

Maybe we should ask Randy Cunnigham, Jack Abramoff, Bill Frist or better yet, Jimmy Swaggart.

  7. we saw that... Avatar

    jimmy swaggart is a republican?

  8. Lucas White Avatar

Yes, I am afraid so. He endorsed Pat Robertson in 86 and Bush in 2000 and 2004. I hope that doesn’t influence you decision to join his movoment.

Lamar….I will give some other options other than Ted Kennedy. How about Cynthia McKinney who just assaulted a capital police officer? How about Bill Clinton who committed perjury? At least our Republican president does not use the White House to hook up with young girls. I am Republican, but I will not act like we are any better than the Democrats……they are all corrupt! Just be fair about it.

  10. Lamar White, Jr. Avatar

Of course. It’s hard to deny that corruption exists on both ends of the poltical spectrum. Cynthia McKinney was crazy, and I have previously expressed my opinion of her on this blog. President Clinton made a mistake when he was in the Oval Office. Again, hard to deny.

The issue, however, is not Clinton or McKinney. Republicans control the Presidency, the Congress, and the Supreme Court, yet many of those who identify with the party’s platform refuse to admit that the current brand of corruption is far more egregious than a stained dress. Instead, the standard response to anyone who is outraged by the rampant corruption and the streaming supply of mugshots is to reference the peripheral and inconsequential actions of those liberals who got in trouble. In other words, the current Republican standard operating procedure is to diffuse any argument by pointing away at others. “It’s OKAY that Republicans are corrupt! So are the Democrats!” I don’t think this is an honest way to address the real issues.

Lamar, you have committed sacrilage. May you be stoned against the back wall of the Bentley.

  12. Lamar White, Jr. Avatar

Haha. Nice to know that calling attention to Republican corruption is morally equivalent to blasphemy. What a crazy country we live in, right?

  13. we saw that... Avatar

yah when someone speaks ill of a republikraut or der fuhrer it tends to piss off the brown shirts.

  14. Civil Sentient Avatar

I usually take the Republican view but I think it’s a hoot the way both parties carry on. It’s kinda like watching “Rassling”. The only harm comes when you believe it’s real.

  15. Anonymous Avatar

Isn’t it about time for the At-Large-Capades?

  16. Scarlett Avatar

Lamar – You just lost me. Do you really think the Republicans are more corrupt than the Democrats? Please!!!!

  17. we saw that... Avatar

yeah you’re right sentient, its just irritating when self righteous republicans always bring up bill clinton and monica lewinsky after all who did they hurt other than themselves? like the “anonymous” wrote up there about using the white house to “hook up with young girls” thats laughable because lewinsky had a history of carrying on with older married men long before she “hooked up” with bill clinton. its not like she was some virginal 17 year old that he corrupted. then when the mis and uninformed entirely overlook this president who laid naked in a coffin in the tombs at yale university and recounted all of his sexual history to his fellow initiates in the satanic skull & bones “club.” if the sheriff caught us cavorting nude with our friends and with a coffin in the room they would take us straightaway to central.

First, concerning the councilman-capades, as it was called: Dr. Slatkin has completed his answers, and Mr. Lawson is still working on his. I hope that I can publish the answers within the next couple of days.

Second, I don’t know how to quantify corruption along party lines. Honestly, I think the corruption is systemic and has little to do with a party platform. That said, it is hard to deny that the Republicans are struggling with scandal right now… and that Bush’s approval rating is hovering in the low 30s because of this. Even at the height of the Lewinsky scandal, Clinton was still polling in the upper 60s to low 70s.

It just kills me that demonkrauts never meet a tax they don’t like. They think goverment can manage my money better than I can and I hate that ideology. They’ve used social giveawaya programs for 50 years to buy votes of people who won’t work because of laziness or dislike for labor.

Republicans of late have not been much at handling the purse strings either so I’m not happy with them at the moment.

  20. we saw that... Avatar

we have never ever voted for a tax and we will vote against the proposed library tax as well.

  21. Civil Sentient Avatar

We Saw That, self responsibility is what I believe in. If I could find a party that had that as a plank my life would be complete.

  22. Anonymous Avatar

Well, the demos certainly don’t believe in self responsibility. Theirs is the party of ALWAYS blame others when you can avoid becoming responsible for your own actions.

  23. Scarlett Avatar

Lamar – I look forward to seeing the mug shot of Congressman Jefferson. Now that will be a true mug shot :).

  24. Scarlett Avatar

Oh, and by the way, I see nothing wrong with Rush’s “conservative” theories.

  25. we saw that... Avatar

rush limbaugh’s “theories” as you call them arent theories at all they are out and out lies and propaganda.

  26. Civil Sentient Avatar

Isn’t any view that is against your ingrained principals and that is expressed in an “In Your Face” mannor propaganda? Not a shot, just thinking with my fingers again. Ya’ll think about it.

  27. we saw that... Avatar

well lets see: who does limbaugh propagandize for: george w bush, dick cheney, donald rumsfeld, condisleeza rice et al., all proven liars. so no we have to disagree with your hypothesis. the only conclusion that one can draw about rush limbaugh is that he is there to keep your lower iq types inline. you know the sheeple. the ones who cant or wont think for themselves.

  28. Scarlett Avatar

Please…….don’t embarrass yourself with this nonsense. You just proved who you really are. Not that everyone had not already suspected you as being such. Now, go back and read what you just wrote and justifiably be very humiliated.

  29. we saw that... Avatar

lol nice try scarlett but its anyone who actually believes limbaugh’s crap that should be embarrased. but that proves our point that they arent bright enough in the first place to see that they are being played and made a fool of.

  30. Scarlett Avatar

Sorry sweetheart. I’m going with Civil Sentient’s philosophy on this one. And I am most confident in knowing my level of “brightness”. 🙂

  35. Anonymous Avatar

Republicans are sheeple? You’ve got to be kidding! Look at majority base of the demonkrauts, most of which can’t even get themselves to the polls without a bus and a cheat sheet on which votes to cast. They vote in blocs to keep their checks coming each month.

Talk about Jimmy Swaggart endorsing a republican? Jesse Jackson endorses all the demonkrauts, so just who endorses who doesn’t mean a big shit.

  36. Anonymous Avatar

You’ll be cheated out of a mug shot for the latest Kennedy mishap too. The ONLY statement he could have made for him to avoid going to the lockup and he makes it under the influence of not one, but TWO drugs. Imagine that! Now rake him over the coals like you did to Rush.

Yeah, it seems like Kennedy narrowly escaped a drunk driving arrest… and his claim of not drinking that night has already been disputed by people who saw him at a bar right before the incident.

Like father, like son. Had it been anyone else they’d have been taken off to jail, but he seemed sober enough to make the one statement that would keep him from going to jail…”I’m going to the Hill to cast a vote.”

These mug shots and your comments are typical of stirring the pot. Just because you have a conflict with your 10 year old self does not give good reason for your views. It is amusing to see how these bloggers eat it up. If you keep in mind the facts, not the mudslinging, you may become enlightened again.
