  1. This cavalier disregard for right and wrong illustrates our need for complete change. Brewer is nice enough but there has to be some political consequence for allowing this graft to flourish for two decades. Sams ain’t personable or pretty but he is effective and his abrasive approach may be necessary for a direction change. That being said, Lawson is the big problem.

  2. Please tell me what authority Delores would have as Director of Major Construction Projects to stop “this graft” from flourishing. Obviously, Delores knows a bad deal when she sees one and, as mayor, would be in a position to do something about it.

  3. So Delores’s defense is a combination of “just following orders” (which didn’t work that well at the Nuremburg trials) and “Not My Job” which appears to be the battle cry of the 2nd floor.

If she lacks the courage, citizenship, and ethical fortitude to report wrongdoing that injures the city, she is obviously not the person we need with this council.

I see only two possibilities: she was too stupid to know what was going on or she lacked the courage to stop it.
All of a sudden we have the valient display of ethical sensitivity. She want a $93,000+ job. Your move.

  4. Scarlett, all joking aside. I would think that Delores, who has been in a top level, well-paid, executive position with the City for almost two decades, will have a very difficult time selling herself as a breath of fresh air and divorcing herself from the stench of recent years. I, for one, wish her luck. I like her. She simply does not represent “change” in anyone’s eyes.

  5. She already represents “change”. I don’t think being a “breath of fresh air” is a pre-requisite to being a strong, reliable and capable candidate. Obviously, you disagree. We’ll just have to get on with it and see what happens.
