From the Blog of the Legal Times:

Patton Boggs and the Breaux-Lott Leadership Group are forming a strategic alliance, the two firms will announce later this afternoon.

A source confirms to Legal Times that former senators John Breaux (D-La.) and Trent Lott (R-Miss.) — who joined together to form their own firm after Lott retired from the Senate late last year — will become special public policy advisors to Patton Boggs. Breaux worked for Patton Boggs before leaving to open the new firm with Lott, and was considered a top lobbyist. The deal has been in the works for months.

The details of how this will affect Breaux’s former Patton Boggs clients are still unclear, and we are awaiting official confirmation of the deal. Influence will update this as more details become available.
